LUMIX LX3 announced

Panasonic has announced the LUMIX LX3, a compact that aspires to be like its big brothers and sisters in the DSLR family.

Available now at @ £359.99 inc. VAT, it is being touted by some as a rival to the excellent Canon G9 (street price @ £299.99 inc. VAT). The G9's sensor size is 1/1.7", so its slightly bigger than the LX3's. How this translates into which has the better image quality remains to be seen. The G( also has the edge on resolution with its 12.1 MP compared to the LX3's 10.1.
