How did I manage to get this far?

The very first image posted in my first post on this blog way back in 2005!

I am referring to the fact that this the 350th post on this blog. That represents quite a chunk of time in terms of thinking about what to write, checking the text for typos and deciding which images to include, keywords (labels on blogspot/blogger) and what links to include. I reckon that each post accounts for something like an hour or so. That's equivalent to 14.58333 days spent writing, editing and posting.

I reckon it has been worth it though as Blogger informs me that there have been almost 91,000 page views since Blogger started keeping stats back in May 2010. I actually started the blog back in October 2005, so it's just over 12 years I've been at it! Not that it has made me any money!

I have enjoyed my time blogging and I aim to continue to do so. However, where I started off having several blogs on a variety of topics I am now taking a more focused approach. Since I joined Patreon, I have decided to focus most of my blogging on photography related topics. I will still keep posting occasionally to my other long-standing blog over at https://macficionado.wordpress.com/ which is focused on Apple and the Mac.

So, if you are reading this blog post, what can you expect to see me blogging about in the future? Well, I will be posting articles and editorial comment on photography related topics. That includes not only my own photography, but other photographers I admire, software for editing your images and equipment I use or am reviewing or reporting on. I will be posting first on my Patreon page, especially when it comes to tutorials and walkthroughs of software. Some of what I post will come to my blog here but there will also be some that is only accessible to patrons. If you want to know more what Patreon is all about and exactly what I will be up to there, as I say, check out my page.

I end this post with a thought: "if photography had never been invented, would the world be a better place or worse for not having photographs?"
